Who we are 

We are a small group set up on a non profit making basis. We came into being after the 2008 AGM of the Reiki Association to protect the continuation of The Annual Gathering, a time honoured tradition.

As changes are taking place within the community we continue to hold this Gathering as an open space where people of all lineages of Reiki can come together.

The team consists of at least 4 members of whom at least half honour and acknowledge the spiritual lineage of Mikao Usui, Chijuro Hayashi, Hawayo Takata, Phyllis Furumoto and the system of Usui Shiki Ryoho. 

Membership of the team is open to persons who are intiated into Reiki and have been to at least 2 Gatherings

History

To date there have been 2 Gatherings. These were organised by the original team.

In 2009 the theme was Exploring our place in Community -  which gave opportunities through a series of workshop choices for people to share their experieinces of different ways of being in Community, including helping our local communities and the world community.  There was a focus on sharing Reiki together throughout the week end.

In 2010 the theme was Expressing the Joy of Reiki. THe feedback from the 2009 Gathering was that we should do more of the same. The format was basically the same with the main focus being on Reiki treatments with workshop options run by members of our Community. We were able to express the Joy through singing, art, enacting, soundwork, and of course sharing reiki stories.

At the 2010 Gathering the original team decided to step aside for new folk to carry on. They are in the wings helping with this website, some finances accumulated and their experience of a successful format for working as a team.  The newly formed team would be happy of any further help and suggestions from anyone who might be interested in ensuring that the 2011 Gathering is a big success for all.
